Staring At Graves

Staring at graves
On chilly winter nights
The dead live in dirt and ice
Forever afterthoughts
Knocking at cedar doors
But who is brave enough to beckon the call?

No one, never!
Not even the angels
Floating on the edge of heaven
Melancholy, drained of their joys
Heads low, a funeral in the sky!
